Hello everyone,
I loved ready all your emails. Thank you for your prayers and this week has been much better. It has been a miracle because through prayer, my relationship with Elder Daniele has totally changed. We have become good friends now and we get along pretty well. We had a really good weekly planning session where we talked everything all out and since then it has been alot better. We started contacting again which I feel is really important even though most the people we contact are english speakers and then we just usually turn them over.
We had a baptism this past week of a couple named Nacho and Chayo. They were found by Elder Trappett over six months ago when he was in Baytown and he came up for the baptism so that was cool. I am kind of worried about them because we got president moldenhauer, the bishop, and another mission presidency counselor President Pomeroy, to give permission and to do interviews with them so they could be baptized even though they are not married and are kind of still living together. They understand the law of chastity very well and so they agreed to have no problems and he sleeps outside in his van with a bunch of blankets but they still live in the same place and there is no way that we can be sure that they are really keeping the law of chastity. We just keep checking everyday. The reason why permitted them to be baptized is because they both have to go to mexico to complete their divorces before they can be married but Nacho also has some dangerous business to take care of in Mexico and he is afraid he might not come back alive and so he wanted to be baptize first. His son was kidnapped by some corrupt cops in Mexico awhile back. He payed the ransom but he now wants to go back and put the cops who did it in Jail. Supposedly he has support of the army and he will go to court but they government is corrupt and he is afraid that they might kill him if he makes his accusation. For this reason, he was able to get permission to be baptized. I felt really uneasy on the day of his baptism and I hope everything is all good and he keeps the commandments. They will be in different places in Mexico so they won't have any temptation during this time but I am worried about after. I hope we made the right choice.
We had another investigator, Juan Andrade, attend the baptism. He says that he wants to be baptized and we have a date for him on the 23rd. He also told me that he wants me to do the baptism which would be awesome because our investigators always like my companions more than me because it is hard for me to joke around with them since I don't know the language. I hope that Juan makes it and I think he will but he didn't come to church last week and that was a huge dissappointment. However he is calling us everynight and reporting on what he has read in the scriptures and he is already to 1 Nephi 16 in about one week. I have lots of hope for him.
I have to go. Love y'all lots.
